Weight Loss Medications

Staying healthy, staying at your own ideal, target weight is important. It means living longer, and more importantly, living better. Whether it adds years to your life or not, it makes the years you do have much better than they could have been. You have more energy, you feel better and you live better. However, there are a number of things they don’t tell you about losing weight…

Slowing Down
After the first few weeks of weight loss, you’ll have lost quite a bit of fat. However, after that point, you may slow down, or even gain weight. You should know, though, that this has nothing to do with gaining fat. What a lot of people don’t know is that fat weighs far, far less than muscle. Think of it this way: fat floats in water, muscle doesn’t. Muscle is denser and weightier. In other words, don’t think that the scale is telling you everything you need to know. Even if you’re using weight loss medications, you won’t lose muscle mass if you’re working out.

The BMI is BS
The BMI, or body mass index, is actually quite outdated. It’s simply not relevant anymore. If they tell you that your healthy weight is this or that, the truth is that it’s different for everyone. Everyone has a different build, and for every five foot six woman to weigh the same, or even nearly the same, would be absurd. The healthy weight from one person to another can vary up to a hundred pounds, or even more. Think of a pro wrestler, body builder or football player who’s six feet tall and weighs three hundred pounds. They’re probably healthier than a couch potato who weighs the same, right?

Sexual Appetite
Here’s something you might not know about working out: it gets you really frisky. When you’re losing weight and getting your energy levels up, you’re stimulating testosterone (not to mention a dozen other hormones) while you’re at it. This is good news, of course, and you and your partner may want to seize on the opportunity for a little post-workout workout now and then.
